REVISITING GALA

Revisiting serves both curiosity and hope. We were curious how the place which once pinched our hearts would receive us again. A couple of years ago, when we poured our pockets of charity, the GALA kids gifted us with a pocketful of little smiles. We yearned to once again mingle with their rich stories of hope. And we were not disappointed. The kids still wore the same smile, threw us the same warm welcome, and have remained generous to us who intended to extend our generosity. It was another testimony that charity begets charity.

On February 8th, our mission, and yes, also our curiosity and hope, brought us back to GAbay sa LAndas or GALA Foundation, Inc. in Angono, Rizal. It is a lean institution housing needy or ill-treated street children. They get the opportunity to study and receive the kind of love that probably they were deprived of where they were rescued from. Most faces were familiar, and we were happy that GALA has kept them and that they have stayed on. Give a few new faces, and which we were happy about that GALA has continued to foster for new destitute children. Take a few faces whom we still remember, and which we were also happy about hearing they have moved on. And of course, when a weak is nourished well and has emerged to be capable to stand on his own and move on, we have to credit the nourisher.

GALA has been a great nourisher. And we at Promax are just privileged to help them in any way we can. Just like our first visit, we gained back all we have given and more. Thanks to Teacher Malou Delos Reyes for opening their door for us once again. Revisiting GALA nourished our generous bosses and our sprightly Food Ingredients and Operations teams. Revisiting GALA served not only our curiosity and hope, we also came home with pocketful of little thriving smiles.
